Maritime Training Institute Winning International Award on Training
In his opening speech, Richard Clayton, chief correspondent at Lloyd's List, said 'Global issues don't always translate into regional concerns. This region has challenges of its own, and this evening's awards target companies and individuals who have spent the past year tackling environmental, logistics, innovation, infrastructure, and other challenges. There are some inspirational winners in the South Asia Middle East and Africa region; this is your opportunity to meet them, share experiences, and hear about successes.'
The judges said 'At a time of geopolitical uncertainty, the Maritime Training Institute has maintained a strong regional footprint and is working hard to develop maritime knowledge in Pakistan and beyond.'
Recipients are chosen from entries taken from the South Asia, Middle East and African regions and adjudicated by a distinguished judging panel which this year included: Richard Clayton, Chief Correspondent, Lloyd's List and chair of judging panel; Captain Saleem Alavi,President, Sea Commerce Consultancy; Alastair Evitt, Group Managing Director, Ship Management (East), V. Group; Kyriacos Panayides, Managing Director, AAL; Marcus Machin,Director-Middle East, Tufton Oceanic; Captain Tamer Masoud, Harbour Master, Port of Fujairah; Jens Poulsen, Co-Founder & CEO, Marcura and Dr Anil Sharma, President and CEO of GMS.
